Air quality
A common issue affecting China’s health as a whole and often spoken of in the headlines, air pollution levels are constantly measured and visualised in Red Town to enable the users in general and residents in particular to constantly see the results of pollution on their neighborhood.
Noise levels
Noise, commonly known as unwanted sound is a ubiquitous aspect of a city. Sound levels measured using decibels are visualised in the map above where we can notice the areas that are in desperate need of an urban intervention to provide balance to the residents and users of Red Town.

Recycling Rates
To encourage recycling among the different users of the neighborhood, we track the amount of waste generated by each user and display them according to their categories (dry, wet, harmful, recyclable and collectors). We are then able to detect the behavioural change of each user towards waste by comparing the charts over a series of time.
Comparison to Shanghai average
In this chart, we can calculate the amount of waste generated by Red Town and display it in comparison with Shanghai’s waste.
